I am

We primarily use chest and clavicular breathing, which does not allow the lungs to fill with oxygen. Of course, oxygen does reach the upper and middle parts of the lungs, but it doesn’t go further, to the lower part. For the lungs to be fully filled with oxygen, it would be necessary to use abdominal breathing, but the person is tense, and the lower part of their body is in the same state. The altered state of consciousness that arises with this type of breathing has an extremely powerful healing and transformative effect.
In many cases, breathing brings difficult emotions and all sorts of unpleasant physical sensations to the surface. This is a process of purification and liberation from old traumas, which paves the way for very pleasant or even ecstatic and transcendent experiences and sensations. With the help of this breathing, you can liberate the consciousness and awaken the body’s dormant abilities, which are activated during the sessions. The greatest benefit of the exercise lies in the active movement of waste from the tissues where it is produced to the lungs, from where we can then remove it. Emphasis on exhalation sharply increases the rate of expulsion of volatile metabolic waste products through lung tissue.
The level of waste in the blood rises during periods of stress, as well as after digestion, or when the body is inactive for a long period, for example, during sleep. Sluggish intestinal function and weakened activity of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems also increase the amount of waste in the blood.

• Choose the correct posture:
- sit on the floor and place the heel of your left foot under your anus, so that it presses firmly against the perineum;
- place your right foot on top of the left one so that the genitals are between the feet, and the right heel is near the pubic bone;
- the toes of both feet should be fixed between the calves and thighs;
- men should carefully ensure that the pressure on the genitals does not cause pain. The back should be straight.
• Close your eyes and shift your focus to your breathing. Follow how the breath enters and leaves the body easily and naturally.
• Listen to the sounds of your breathing. When you inhale with your abdomen, you will hear the natural sound A; when you exhale, you will hear the sound HAM. Breathe evenly, without interruptions, through both nostrils. The sound means “I am.” With each inhale and exhale, gradually relax your body. Focus on the area around the navel, feel how the breath moves from the navel to the nostrils and back to the navel. Feel how the breath moves up and down along the spine, how the body relaxes and worries fade from the mind. Feel the point where the nasal septum ends and the upper lip begins. Touch the roof of the mouth with the tip of your tongue to feel this point. Breathe in from the point below the nasal septum and feel the subtle flow of energy that focuses between the eyebrows. Exhale in the opposite direction. Gradually feel how sound, consciousness, and energy transform into a single flow. This flow of breath goes through a channel where, on one side, there is emptiness, and on the other — a new beginning, the birth of a new life or a new state. Take 9 to 108 breaths in one cycle. Up to 9 during the practice, and each time repeat A HAM, reminding yourself of your divine heritage. Gradually, the sound will merge into OM. By repeating A HAM, a person becomes one with the Absolute. Inhaling A — fill yourself with energy; exhaling HAM — exhale the ego and limitations, opening the 7th throat energy center.

• Listen to your quiet breathing, while focusing your attention on the intervals between inhalation and exhalation. Observe these intervals, as through them the doors to the mystery of the Universe and the sound of OM are opened. By regularly practicing A HAM, you will feel the connection between your inner masculine and feminine principles, i.e., you will sense the union of Spirit and Nature. They acquire inner purity, concentration, and peace, which leads to liberation.

With the sound “HAM,” vital energy flows outward; with the sound “A,” it returns again. The soul, continuously repeating the mantra, is freed forever; only by this solution does a person rid himself of sins. On the path that leads to the abode of Goodness lie the gates, barred by the head of the sleeping Supreme Mistress Shakti. Awakened by the flame of the union of mind and air, it rises to the 9th energy center, like a needle pulling a thread. And, as if opening a door with effort, as if unlocking it with a key, the gates of liberation will swing open.
